Community Involvement: Jumpstart

Pearson partners with Jumpstart to recruit and train college students to work one-to-one with disadvantaged pre-school children. In the process Jumpstart student's measurably improve the children's performance. Most of these college students have never thought about teaching as a career, but they come away from this work very stimulated. Now Pearson is inspiring them to take the next step.

Jumpstart teachers in action

Each year, the Pearson Teacher Fellowship sponsors Jumpstart alumni to become full-time early education teachers. Pearson Teacher Fellows receive stipends, on-going training, plus individual mentoring to support them in the first two years of their teaching careers. The Teacher Fellow program supports Jumpstart's goal of preparing disadvantaged youngsters for school success.
